*
Maurice was born 35 minutes after his brother Robin, and although they
are
twins
they are fraternal
*
Maurice and Robin are as different in dispostions as they are in looks
~
Maurice
is more outgoing, easy-going and "everybody's mate", where as Robin is quiet and shy
*
After much disharmony between the brothers in relation to their careers,
Robin
left the group, going solo and releasing a chart-topping hit "Saved
by the Bell",
before
the brothers reunited and made their first comeback with a string of hits
*
Robin was a passenger with his first wife Molly (then fiance), in the Hither
Green
train
crash on 5th November, 1967, one of London's worst train disasters,
which
killed 49 people and injured 78. Robin rescued Molly and went on
to help
rescue
many more.
*
Barry, Robin and Maurice, with their family, were en-route back to England
via ship
so the
brothers could further their musical career, when they heard that their
song
"Spicks
and Specks", that they recorded in Australia
in 1966, went to Number One
* The Brothers Gibb all lived on the same street in Miami, until last year,
when Maurice bought a $7.2 million waterfront house with 13 bedrooms!
Barry and Robin are still neighbours, living next door to one another.
* Maurice is estimated to have earned around $200 million in his illustrious
career as a Bee Gee.
* Barry married in Australia in 1966 to a Maureen Bates, but they soon
parted after reaching England, and Barry went on to marry Linda Gray
on his 24th birthday in 1969
* Barry was badly scalded when he was 18 months old, after pulling a tablecloth from
the table with a fresh pot of boiling hot tea! He was in hospital for a number of
months, at one point with just 20 minutes to live. Barry still has the scars today.
* Did you know....?
....that on the "One Night Only" DVD/video from Las Vegas, the young girl who comes onstage
to give Barry, Robin and Maurice a red rose each before at the end of one of the songs, is
actually Barry's daughter Ali, who was about 6 years old at the time
